I believe this statement and MORE. Our alignment n I believe this statement and MORE. Our alignment not only heals ourselves but others as well. We have the power to co-create each other. As with most growth, it's not, either or, individual and community, it's a both, and. Anytime I share a new growth pattern with someone else, it solidifies it in me while supporting another soul. Or it contrasts differences between us which can also serve growth. When in alignment to the Divine, we heal each other. More than ever, we need an understanding of the importance of US. Aligned community is why WE are here. #consciousliving #consciousparenting #consciouscommunication #consciousconversations #heart2heartparents #raiserespectfulparents

My heart is full to see the ease and connection now between this parent and teen.

From Mom: “The work I did with you individually Laura helped me see where I was triggered from my past of growing up in an alcoholic home and helped me heal my fear so that I’m parenting in the moment with calm presence and not from projecting fear. Turns out the real problem was me. It takes practice one day at a time, of course. Not only do I have more self-compassion and I’m centered, but we have less conflict in the family overall."

From Teen: “The communication skills help, but really its because my parents started using them and try to control me less. They give me the benefit of the doubt now and we laugh more.”

Yesterday, a sweet parent asked me, "Why is it so Yesterday, a sweet parent asked me, "Why is it so hard?" I empathize. Parenting a teen today is one of the hardest things there is. It is complicated and takes all of who we are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In our group we offer mutual support for the journey.

But I would also like to offer my…Experience, Strength and Hope.

My EXPERIENCE: When I am distressed by my teen's reactions, struggles, problems or personality, it means I am distressed by my own expectations. When I am dissatisfied with my teen, I am really dissatisfied with myself.

Practically speaking, it means I cannot control or protect her and somehow I believe I should. Our teens have a right to their own journeys. They deserve to work through their own distress and have their own problems. That means they can make their own mistakes. I can have influence but they need to be exactly where they are so they can work through it.

My STRENGTH: When I let go of my expectations about how my teen "should" be and let go of the fear for my teen's future, I can relate to her and honor her for exactly who she is.

My HOPE: When I simply but profoundly relate to her exactly as she is and where she is without expectation or a need to control her, that relationship provides her the foundation and guiding light for working through what she needs to work through.

Yes, parenting teens is hard. In fact today, it may be the hardest part of being human, but when we surrender the illusion of control, we are free to love, support, guide and influence. #parentingteens #parentingteenagers #consciousconversations #consciousparenting #raiserespectfulparents #heart2heartparents #surrendercontrol #codependencywithteens #codependentnomore

How will you connect this holiday? Attempts at con How will you connect this holiday? Attempts at control are always about fear based parenting and not about facilitating the positive future we envision. Perceived successful teens and young adults don't manifest from fear. I had to take a look at what my parenting purpose really was in order to connect on a heart level and provide the foundation of support my teen need to learn to "adult."

Seasons Greetings! Is it too early to say that? I Seasons Greetings!

Is it too early to say that? I've been waiting all year.

But I remember some holidays weren't all that festive because I was living with moody and sometimes isolating teens (heavy sigh)...until I did my inner work and learned how to listen and communicate from the heart. Then the holidays became as fun as when they were little.

I want to share the conscious communication skills with you, that can help you rekindle connection with your teen and make memories that call them back to you when they are young adults.

I know how busy we all are, and I know how busy the holidays can get.

That's why I'm offering a VIP Make Your Spirit Bright Session. (I've never offered anything like this before!)

It's 90 minutes of super charged practical coaching where we apply conscious communication to your most pressing parent/teen issues and co-create solutions together with a roadmap of the first steps to launch your teen's successful future.

Want the details? Type "Bright" below and I will message you the info right away! #parentingteens #consciousconversations #parentingteenagers #consciousparenting
