It takes bravery to breakthrough to a teen who is lost in their phone.

It takes bravery to navigate the threat of active shooters in schools.

It takes bravery to build a career while building a family.

Yes, it takes a certain bravery to raise tweens and teens these days and an even greater bravery to launch confident young adults into this complicated world.

No one does it alone! We need support.

Most parents are seeking more peace and harmony in their homes and mutually respectful communication with their teen. But few understand that we hold the keys ourselves and fewer understand how to shift every interaction with their teen starting today.

As a parent of teens, I made plenty of mistakes but ultimately built deeply satisfying relationships with my teens and budding young adults by conscientiously addressing my own fears and insecurities, then honoring the beautiful young women my daughters were becoming.

I had the best of intentions to respect their autonomy and personhood, but my own family of origin didn’t provide me with the skill set to do so. Therefore, I had to learn them.

I have mapped out, implemented and write about the conscious communication skills that helped my daughters and me navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence and launch them to be the awesome, powerful, free thinking, brilliant young women they are.

Now, I’m on a mission to help parents and teens co-create meaningful, satisfying relationships that find solutions through hormones, dating, school, career discovery and even experimentation with risky behavior.

I want to help parents and teens connect deeply to navigate the transition times of life and go on to cultivate the close relationships their hearts deserve.

I’m living proof it’s possible!

If you would like to learn to apply the conscious communication skills to your relationships, I offer specialized parent and teen relationship coaching. My unique coaching emphasis focuses on the relationship.

I often say, my client isn’t the parent or the teen. My client is THE relationship. (Hint: That’s why teens open up to me. They sense they are not the “identified problem” and neither is the parent really. It’s the disconnect.)

After we clarify your parenting purpose as equipping kids for their positive future with a skills building approach and you learn how to use the conscious communication skills I teach, we invite your teen to join the sessions. (Sometimes siblings join too. That way everyone is speaking the same language, and no one feels left out.)

In this way, teens learn the communication skills too! In this way, parents and teens can co-create their own solutions in a safe space and it becomes the template for all future relating and problem solving.
